The specialized design of the containers is tailored to the mixing head of the respective container mixer, thereby enabling a wider throughput range per mixer. This makes the production process even more flexible.

The flat mixing head has a smaller surface area than a conventional mixing head and can therefore be cleaned more quickly and easily. The large distance between the mixing tool and the mixing head allows for cleaning while the unit is installed. This enables extremely fast cleaning cycles and recipe changes. The new tool design ensures optimal mixing flow formation (vortex) with moderate heat input.

The CM i4 fleX container mixer is a further development of the proven container mixer concept. However, the CM i4 fleX has new features that make the container mixer even more attractive.

Unlike the Multitool™ container mixer, it features a completely new type of flat mixing head that allows for quick cleaning. The mixing tools do not need to be removed for cleaning. The container mixer’s design—which does not include a base plate—also significantly reduces the amount of cleaning required.

The CM i4 fleX container mixer is therefore particularly well-suited for applications in which different recipes require frequent cleaning of the mixer. The resulting increase in efficiency is an important factor in reducing production costs.

The CM i4 fleX can be used across multiple floors in your production facility thanks to its mobile containers and accessories, just like the Multitool™ container mixer and the Vortex™ container mixer. Using the appropriate connections, the container mixer can be emptied dust-free directly into extruders, kneaders, secondary vessels, and weighing and bagging devices in the next process step.

With its revolutionary mixing system, the CM i4 fleX container mixer offers versatile application possibilities for the production of a wide range of products. Another advantage is the ability to use multiple container sizes with a single mixer.

This mixer embodies the features of Industry 4.0 and the IoT (Internet of Things) as applied to the mixing industry. Its distinguishing features include excellent mixing flexibility, high quality, and minimal cleaning effort.

The control system for the CM i4 fleX container mixer is based on a Siemens S7 PLC and meets today's requirements for safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The development and programming of the control system from a single source ensures optimal integration of the mixer components. Alternatively, it is also possible to use Allen-Bradley components (including the PanelView operator terminal).

The control can also be designed in accordance with UL/NEMA standards. In addition, the control can be equipped with an interface for data exchange with a higher-level control system.

Up to 99 mixing programs, each with ten steps, can be created in tabular form using the TP700 touchscreen control panel. Data is collected and the measured values are stored.

The MIXACO i4 fleX mixing tool was specially developed for use in a mixer with a flat mixing head. The innovative design of the i4 tool enables effective mixing flow formation, even at moderate peripheral speeds. These range from 4 to 15 m/s, depending on the application. Excellent homogenization and color application are guaranteed.

Because of the large distance to the mixing head base, the mold can be cleaned while it is installed. The large distance to the mixing head and to the container, as well as the innovative geometry of the i4 fleX mold, minimize material buildup, which also significantly simplifies cleaning.
