The SITRANS FVA250 operates on the float principle. The flowing medium lifts a conical float inside a measuring ring, increasing the ring gap until an equilibrium is established between the buoyant force of the medium and the weight of the float. The height of the float is directly proportional to the flow rate. This movement is transmitted magnetically to a display unit outside the measuring tube, providing a direct reading on the scale without the need for external power. For process monitoring and control, the device can also be equipped with a transmitter (MEM) with 4–20 mA and HART output, PROFIBUS PA or limit switches.
