SITRANS FMS500 is designed for abstraction, treatment, distribution, irrigation and wastewater applications. It supports sensitive low-flow measurement for leak detection, while approved liner options cover potable and non-potable water applications. Combined with SITRANS FMT020, it forms the SITRANS FM520 system with conductivity measurement, diagnostics and fast commissioning via SENSORPROM™ technology.
High sensitivity at low-flow velocities helps reveal leaks earlier, improve district metering insight and support more confident balancing of water distribution networks.
A rugged design for buried, flooded and hard-to-access locations gives planners more freedom in civil work and helps keep measurement points close to where data is needed.
With no moving parts and a rugged design, SITRANS FMS500 supports long operating intervals and keeps maintenance effort low in water applications.

With SITRANS FMT020, SENSORPROM™ stores sensor data and calibration values for fast commissioning and easier transmitter replacement, helping reduce setup errors, shorten service time and return the meter to operation quickly.
Fully welded sensor is built for direct burial and flooding with IP68 options. Integrated grounding electrodes can eliminate grounding rings. Flowmeter supports 0 x DN upstream and downstream installation in all orientations.
NBR and EPDM liner options are suitable for ground, potable, cooling and wastewater applications. Drinking water approvals include WRAS, NSF/ANSI 61, ACS, Trinkwasserverordnung §14, Belgaqua, AS/NZS 4020 and GB/T 5750.
When combined with transmitter SITRANS FMT020 as SITRANS FM520, the flowmeter is Siemens EcoTech certified. Up to 15% lower operational energy use, recyclable packaging, repairability and firmware updates reduce lifecycle impact.
Integrated diagnostics and self-verification continuously check device health, while SITRANS Verificator enables external verification with traceable reporting. Results are available via SIMATIC PDM and SITRANS mobile IQ.

SITRANS FMT020 transmitter provides device diagnostics, empty pipe monitoring and integrated self-verification.
