SIMOTICS Torquemotors are the first choice for maximum precision and productivity on rotary axes. Their direct‑drive design saves space, increases flexibility, reduces maintenance and delivers high torque with excellent dynamics and accuracy. They’re available in two types:

Direct drive technology and high pole count deliver outstanding precision, power and dynamic response. This enables short acceleration times, excellent smooth running characteristics and highly accurate motion control.
With no mechanical transmission elements required, you can integrate the motors directly into the machine structure, saving space and minimizing wear and maintenance while providing a high level of system availability.
A high number of poles enables the motors to generate substantial torque even at very low speeds. This enables powerful, efficient performance ideal for demanding rotary applications.
Provides 100 to 7,000 Nm at speeds from 50 to 1,800 rpm, replacing hydraulic and geared systems. As a permanent magnet synchronous drive, it offers efficient, precise motion for demanding industrial applications.

German glass machinery supplier IPROTEC uses Siemens technology for its drinking-glass blowing machine, which can produce up to 60 glasses per minute, achieving extremely high precision with lower operating and maintenance costs.
SIMOTICS Torquemotors operate as direct drives, eliminating gearboxes, belts and hydraulic assemblies. This avoids mechanical backlash, reduces friction losses and increases stiffness, resulting in higher precision, improved energy efficiency and lower maintenance requirements.
SIMOTICS T-1FW3 complete torque motors are flanged to the machine using torque arms specifically developed for the purpose. An optional clamping element makes it easier to couple the rotor to the machine shaft. The pre-installed mounting set includes the torque arm, clamping element and centering sleeve (only for hollow shafts), making it simple and safe to establish a connection to the motor. This creates a perfectly stiff drive train that can be optimally controlled. For SIMOTICS T-1FW6 built-in torque motors, stator and rotor are supplied as components and are directly integrated in the machine itself. For a complete drive unit, a bearing and an encoder system are required additionally. For installation in the machine, stators and rotors are equipped with flanges with centering surfaces and threaded holes.
SIMOTICS T-1FW3 is ideal for the process industry, plastics, marine systems and metal forming, where high torques and robust drive train stiffness are essential. SIMOTICS T-1FW6 is suited for rotary indexing tables and partial machines, rotary axes (A/B/C for 5 axis machining centers), workpiece spindles and test stands requiring extremely high precision and compact integration.
Both motor families offer highly efficient cooling options. SIMOTICS T‑1FW3 uses a compact water‑cooled design to provide high continuous torque density. SIMOTICS T‑1FW6 is available in several cooling variants depending on motor size: natural cooling, integrated water cooling with one or two circuits, and jacket water cooling. These options provide optimal thermal performance for diverse machine integration requirements.
