SIMOTICS Torquemotors are the top choice for maximum precision and productivity on rotary axes. Their direct-drive design saves space, increases flexibility, reduces maintenance, and delivers high torque with excellent dynamics and accuracy. They are available in two types:

Direct-drive technology and a high pole count deliver outstanding precision, power, and dynamic response. This enables fast acceleration, excellent smoothness, and highly accurate motion control.

Since no mechanical transmission components are required, you can integrate the motors directly into the machine structure, saving space and minimizing wear and maintenance while ensuring a high level of system availability.

A high number of poles allows the motors to generate substantial torque even at very low speeds. This enables powerful, efficient performance that is ideal for demanding rotary applications.

It delivers 100 to 7,000 Nm at speeds ranging from 50 to 1,800 rpm, replacing hydraulic and geared systems. As a permanent-magnet synchronous drive, it provides efficient, precise motion for demanding industrial applications.

The extremely compact, water-cooled design offers high power density and stable, continuous operation. Ideal for machines with limited space that require strong, reliable torque delivery.

SIMOTICS torque motors operate as direct drives, eliminating gearboxes, belts, and hydraulic assemblies. This eliminates mechanical backlash, reduces friction losses, and increases stiffness, resulting in higher precision, improved energy efficiency, and lower maintenance requirements.

SIMOTICS T-1FW3 complete torque motors are flanged to the machine using torque arms specifically designed for this purpose. An optional clamping element makes it easier to couple the rotor to the machine shaft. The pre-installed mounting kit includes the torque arm, clamping element, and centering sleeve (for hollow shafts only), making it simple and safe to connect the motor. This creates a perfectly rigid drive train that can be optimally controlled. For SIMOTICS T-1FW6 built-in torque motors, the stator and rotor are supplied as individual components and are directly integrated into the machine itself. To complete the drive unit, a bearing and an encoder system are also required. For installation in the machine, the stators and rotors are equipped with flanges featuring centering surfaces and threaded holes.

SIMOTICS T-1FW3 is ideal for the process industry, plastics, marine systems, and metal forming, where high torques and robust drive train stiffness are essential. SIMOTICS T-1FW6 is suitable for rotary indexing tables and machine components, rotary axes (A/B/C for 5-axis machining centers), workpiece spindles, and test stands requiring extremely high precision and compact integration.

Both motor families offer highly efficient cooling options. The SIMOTICS T‑1FW3 uses a compact water-cooled design to provide high continuous torque density. SIMOTICS T‑1FW6 is available in several cooling variants depending on motor size: natural cooling, integrated water cooling with one or two circuits, and jacket water cooling. These options provide optimal thermal performance for a wide range of machine integration requirements.
