SITRANS TSinserts are interchangeable measuring inserts that offer a wide selection of sensors, configurable dimensions, and certifications for use in hazardous areas.

The SITRANS TS500’s modular design makes it exceptionally versatile, providing precise temperature measurements even in harsh industrial environments.

Customizable protective tubes for demanding processes—protecting sensors in harsh industrial environments while ensuring accurate, safe temperature measurement.

Head-mounted temperature transmitters for reliable measurement, easy integration, and advanced diagnostics, from standard to high-availability applications.

Available in European (DIN) or American (ANSI spring-loaded) styles, SITRANS TS inserts install directly into SITRANS TS500 assemblies without removing the thermowell. A wide selection of RTD and thermocouple sensors, configurable lengths and tip diameters, and optional TH-series transmitters cover a broad range of process requirements.

Replace the measuring insert without disturbing the thermowell or process seal. Significantly reduce maintenance time, quickly restore accurate measurements, and keep your assets online with minimal intervention.

ATEX and IECEx certified for intrinsic safety (Ex ia), flameproof enclosures (Ex d), and non-sparking (Ex ec). FM and CSA approvals are also available. SIL 2/3 functional safety is supported when used with SITRANS TH320/TH420.

Choose Pt100/Pt1000 RTDs—basic, vibration-resistant, or extended-range—or thermocouples (types K, J, N, E, T, R, S, and more). Single or dual elements are available, with RTD accuracy up to IEC Class AA.

Tip diameters of 6, 8, or 10 mm are suitable for different thermowell bores. Lengths range from 45 to 2,000 mm and can be specified to the millimeter for a precise fit in any SITRANS TS500 or compatible thermowell.

Mount TH-series head transmitters on the DIN flying-leads variant for 4–20 mA, HART 7, or PROFIBUS PA output. The SITRANS TH420 adds dual-sensor input with hot backup for high-availability applications.

Yes—that is their primary purpose. SITRANS TS inserts are designed as replaceable measuring inserts for the SITRANS TS500 series. You can replace a worn or failed insert without removing the thermowell from the process, thereby significantly reducing maintenance downtime. Simply match the tip diameter, insertion length, and sensor type to your existing configuration. Use part number 7MC701 in the Siemens PIA Life Cycle Portal for online configuration and exact specifications.

SITRANS TSinserts offer a comprehensive range of explosion protection certifications. For European and IECEx markets, options include intrinsic safety (Ex ia) for Zones 0 and 1, non-sparking (Ex ec) for Zone 2, and compatibility with flameproof enclosures (Ex d). For North American markets, FM and CSA approvals are available, including flameproof and non-sparking variants. You can also order the assembly with a SIL 2/3 functional safety certificate for safety-instrumented systems when combined with the SITRANS TH320 or TH420 transmitter.
