Información general del producto
SITRANS FM TRANSMAG 2 is a high-powered electromagnetic flowmeter for heavy mining slurries, pulp & paper and low-conductivity media.
Where conventional DC-pulsed meters lose their signal, the SITRANS FM TRANSMAG 2 keeps measuring—even in media with magnetic particles or up to 70 % solids. Its fully welded construction with IP68 protection and continuous self-diagnostics deliver the ruggedness that demanding environments require.
A dedicated slurry mode stabilizes readings in high-solids media and air-entrained flows. Combined with powerful field excitation, it delivers accurate, stable results—even in paper stock above 3 % consistency.
Handle fluids down to 1 µS/cm conductivity as standard. For particularly demanding media such as demineralized water, an extended range down to 0.1 µS/cm is available on request.
SmartPLUG stores factory calibration and sensor data inside the MAG 911/E pre-amplifier. On power-up, the transmitter reads everything automatically—no manual parameter entry, fewer errors and significantly faster startup.
Ambient temperature: -20 to 60 °C (-4 to 140 °F)
Medium temperature: -20 to 150 °C (-4 to 300 °F)
Liners, electrodes, and sensor material
Liners: Neoprene, PTFE, Hard rubber, Linatex, Novolak
Electrodes: AISI 316 Ti (mat. No. 1.4571/316 Ti), Hastelloy C4 (mat. No. 2.4610), Platinum head with shaft (mat. No. 1.4571/316Ti), Titanium, Tantalum
Enclosure sensor: IP67 (NEMA 4x), IP68 (NEMA 6) – optional
High signal resolution paired with an outstanding 3000:1 turndown ratio eliminates range switching. A single measuring span covers everything from full flow to near-zero.
A broad selection of liner and electrode materials lets you match the sensor precisely to your process chemistry, temperature and abrasion requirements.
Connect via HART 5.1 or PROFIBUS PA Profile 2.0 for digital bus communication. Configure remotely with SIMATIC PDM or locally via the multi-language two-line display.
Biomass plants often struggle to reliably capture volume flow measurements. High amounts of dry solids and fats complicate measurements with an electromagnetic device and make it susceptible to faults. While pulsed DC meters reach their limits whenever impurities are concerned, pulsed AC meters prove their capability even under harshest conditions.
The SITRANS FM MAG 911/E sensor covers sizes from DN 15 to DN 1000 (½” to 40″), with multiple flange standards including EN 1092-1, ANSI B16.5, AWWA C-207 and JIS 10K—suitable for everything from small process lines to large-diameter pipelines in mining or water applications.
The transmitter uses a 23-bit ultra-low-noise ASIC combined with a digital filter that suppresses electrode noise. The magnetic flux density is continuously monitored by reference coils, and inaccuracies from long-term or temperature drift are automatically compensated through a self-monitoring circuit. For slurry applications, a dedicated slurry mode further stabilizes the reading.
