SCALANCE LPE is a small and robust local processing engine with a powerful CPU. It is flexibly usable – for example, for edge applications that allow you to significantly boost the efficiency of your plants. SCALANCE LPE collects data directly at the process, pre-processes it, and makes it available to other systems. Possible applications are e.g. condition monitoring of multiple devices for the purpose of predictive maintenance or anomaly detection in communications networks. Thanks to its powerful CPU, the processing engine handles several applications simultaneously. Its Linux-based operating system allows you to implement your own self-developed apps as well as applications available on the market (such as Docker©) with one device.
Designed for use in temperatures from –40°C to +60°C. The local processing engine is fanless, has redundant power supply, and fits any control cabinet due to its compact design. With its powerful CPU, SCALANCE LPE can handle multiple applications simultaneously. A wide range of approvals, including railway and hazardous Zone 2, extends its application range.
As an open, Linux-based system, SCALANCE LPE enables you to implement your own self-developed applications. It can function as an industrial PC, edge device, for network anomaly detection, firewall, or router—and supports market-available apps, including Zero Trust remote access solutions.
The housing follows the SIMATIC S7-1500 design, ensuring seamless integration with the SCALANCE and SINEC portfolios. Its dimensions and structure fit perfectly with other Siemens network management components.
